Robert E. Peary explored the Arctic between 1891 and 1909. In the era before blogs he publicized his work through books, articles, and personal appearances. His on-line presence today includes a historic blog based on journals from his 1908-09 North Pole Expedition as well as electronic copies of many of his writings.You can read more about him here.

Susan Kaplan is an archaeologist and Director of The Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum at Bowdoin College. She has conducted extensive archaeological research on historic and prehistoric Inuit sites in Labrador.

Genevieve LeMoine is an archaeologist and Curator of The Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum at Bowdoin College. She has conducted archaeological research on a variety of prehistoric and historic sites in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland.

  1. Sorry that you went to all that bother over stoves. At the new Peary MacMillan Mall in Cape Sheridan there is both a Tim Horton’s and a Starbucks just a few shops away frpm the Wal-Mart.. There s also a coffe sled making the rounds on a daily basis.

    • So Canada is now expressing sovereignty through Tim Horton’s franchises! Coffee and doughnuts will be a great improvement over the soup pipeline someone suggested Peary build to feed his expedition – it was never built, they say, because Peary didn’t like soup.
